The survey is organized and broken down into five major sections. The first section, labeled Introduction, defines the terminology used throughout the Survey, as well as general demographic information about the database and statistical analysis techniques. The next three sections labeled Organization Profile, Benefits, and Salary Administration include the responses to organizational questions by the individual law firms and corporate law departments participating in this survey. The following three sub-sections National, Regional, and Core Based Statistical Area (CBSA), contain analysis on individual employees salary on an hourly basis, bonus, billing rate and hours by position level. Compensation data by position is then stratified (where there is sufficient data to analyze) using the following variables: years in profession, size of organization, and practice area. Last, the final section of the report is the actual Questionnaire that was sent out to participants.
