As a part of the annual NLJ 500 survey, ALM Intelligence sent surveys to approximately 600 law firms to solicit information about staffing patterns and procedures. Eligibility is based on a firms total number of attorneys, not including contract or temporary attorneys. A firm must have more lawyers based in the United States than in any other single country. Firms are ranked by the total number of full-time equivalent (FTE) attorneys.
